Like with the old teams concept, it has been proposed that we once again gather after play to post scores / winners and let the good-natured "ribbing" ensue. If approved by popular vote, this action will require the following:
a. Purchase of a laptop (or comparable) computer for the league secretary to use in posting scores and winners.
b. Additional member contribution toward the computer purchase (includes software and peripherals)
c. We’re expecting this to be about $20 per member.
d. Shotgun starts to get everyone in around the same time. (I’ve sometimes waited almost an hour for the last group to come in.)
Yes, mike, The Proposal doesn't require players to stay. They can always pick up their winnings the next time they play from their envelopes. But it does give the option for those who want to sit around and "jaw-jack" and kid each other to do so.
I'm opposed to this one for personal reasons. I already have an hour drive each way to and from the golf course. Between arriving early for check in and spending a few minutes socializing after the round, I'm already looking at 7 to 7 1/2 hours before I get home. I'm also not a fan of the shotgun starts it would require. I think it's essential to keep the option of leaving before the payouts and having any winnings held in an envelope for the next day's play like we do now.
